County fire department has new deputy chief in place

He ended his SFRS career as a local senior officer for East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

In this role, he was responsible for the provision of fire and rescue service in three local authority areas covering a population of 350,000, including seven full-time fire stations and four on-call / retained positions with a total staff of over 320. staff members.

Jim said: “I am really looking forward to working with my new department – working closely with the management team and our staff to realize our vision of making Northumberland safer.

“It is also exciting to be a part of Northumberland County Council and to work collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities and residents.
