“Each year, Domino’s stores look forward to partnering with their local fire departments and the NFPA to bring fire safety messages to their customers in exciting and unexpected ways,” said Jenny Fouracre, spokesperson for Domino. “This is the 15th year that Domino’s has offered the program in neighborhoods across the United States”
“Homes today are burning faster and hotter than before, reducing the time individuals have to escape to safety,” said Lorraine Carly, vice president of outreach and advocacy for the NFPA. “That’s why it’s essential that every household develop a home escape plan and practice it regularly. In a typical household fire, you may have as little as two minutes to get out from the time the smoke alarm sounds. We hope to increase awareness of these potentially life-saving messages through our annual effort with Domino’s. »
Domino’s and NFPA Fire Safety Tips
Making an evacuation plan in case of fire is essential. Follow these steps to create your own plan:
Make sure your home escape plan meets the needs of all members of your family, including those with sensory or physical disabilities.
Smoke alarms should be installed inside every bedroom, outside every bedroom, and on every level of your home. Smoke detectors should be interconnected so that when one rings, they all ring.
Know at least two exits from each room, if possible. Make sure all doors and windows open easily.
Have an outdoor meeting place a safe distance from your home where everyone should meet.
Practice your home fire drill at least twice a year with all members of the household, including guests. Practice at least once during the day and at night.
