JERSEY SHORE – At least one person has been left homeless after a fire Sunday night destroyed a house on Cement Hollow Road. The owner called 911 to report a fire at 1008 Cement Hollow Road around 8:25 p.m., according to reports.

Fire destroys home near Jersey Shore | News, Sports, Jobs A dispatcher told responding fire units that the owner believed the fire was around the fireplace. When Tiadaghton Valley Police arrived at the scene from Piatt Township, they reported a fire involving much of the second floor.

There was no information indicating whether there were any injuries. Most of the fire was “under control” by 9 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

As steady snow fell – making all roads very slippery – firefighters from several companies in Lycoming and Clinton counties battled the blazes. A few minutes later, when the first firefighter pulled over, he reported that the entire structure was engulfed in flames.

Jersey Shore, Antes Fort, Nippenose Valley, Woodward Township, Old Lycoming Township, Montgomery fire companies were among those who responded.
