Grant to help Mills Fire Department boost fire prevention

MILLS, Wyo. (Release) – The Mills Fire Department has received a $ 3,200 fire prevention grant from FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers.

FM Global representatives presented the award to the Mills Fire Department by email to Chief Bob Lanz. The award will be used to assist with pre-incident planning to effectively collect and track data related to local community buildings. The information will help the fire department respond to an emergency. The fire department will enter hazards and other important information about each building in Mills. This will be done either during fire inspections or during pre-incident planning training. Photos, building layout, construction and other relevant information will be uploaded with this software. In the event of an incident, response teams can access this information and pass it on to support services or law enforcement. “We at the Mills Fire Department are very grateful to FM Global for this award.”

Because fire continues to be the leading cause of property damage worldwide, over the past 40 years FM Global has provided millions of dollars in fire prevention grants to fire service organizations around the world. .
