Pedestrian dead, injured after Florence hit and run – NBC Los Angeles

Police are looking for the suspect in a hit and run collision in Florence on Friday night that left one dead and another injured.

At around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, the suspect’s car was heading east on Manchester Avenue and making a northbound turn on Avalon Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement. The suspect’s car collided with another car traveling west on Manchester Avenue.

The collision resulted in one of the vehicles “turning counterclockwise and colliding with two pedestrians standing at the northwest corner of Manchester Avenue and Avalon Boulevard”, said declared the LAPD.

While one of these two pedestrians suffered only minor injuries, the other suffered a blunt trauma and was taken to hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The pedestrian died of her injuries in hospital, police said.

The age of the two pedestrians was not immediately available.

The suspect in the case left the scene without attempting to rescue the victims, police said, which is against the law.

“Drivers are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services and remain on the scene for identify, “said the LAPD.
